Due to a recent issue, I had to spend sometime reading up on Trust levels.  And this got me thinking about our future server setups which will be to segregate WebApps onto individual virtual servers.

Typically we work in an intranet enviroment & so are behind some pretty serious firewalls.  As I read about trust levels, it seemed to me that since we are going in the direction of one app per virtual server, that we might as well just run these at full trust since we don't have to worry about apps conflicting, hijacking other apps, etc...

I am curious as to what you more experienced gurus think of that idea?
Am I being naive and just asking for trouble or is it a reasonable idea.

Of course since we're in a GIS program, some of the apps serve up massive data sets and images and those will probably still require heavy hitting hardware which will run a few apps per box & will run at medium trust.

TIA

Since "Medium Trust" already became our application's norms including most of the targeted servers are set, I would rather stick to it. There is nothing wrong about having an extra layer of protection than to be caught unaware in the future.

That's only my opinion.

Cheers,

Jimi:

You make a valid point.
Other than me just being lazy, there's no reason to open the trust level higher than Medium.  As you say, you never know what the future holds.

Thanks for your feedback.
