Hi,

I am deploying an IS 9.0.1 application to SharePoint 2010 on Windows 2008R2.

Running the 'xxx_addSolution.bat' (after fixing the path) I get an error:

Illegal feature Id attribute 'xxx_Deploy\feature.xml' for feature at 'ProjectEncryptionKey'. A feature identifier must be a guid.

xxx.wsp: The Solution installation failed.

How do I go about fixing this problem?

Thanks

I managed to fix the problem by replacing the "ProjectEncryptionKey" in feature.xml with a GUID. (I used 'IZArc' to extract/zip the WSP cabinet file)

My concern: This is a 'deal-breaking' bug by IS. I find it hard to believe I am the first person to deploy an IS generated WSP package to SharePoint.

What other bugs am I going to run into while installing the WSP package?

Hi,

I am still havings problems getting the site up.

The deployment 'seems' to have succeeded.

Has anyone successfully deployed an IS generated WSP package to a SP 2010 server?

Besides the 'ProjectEncryptionKey'-bug I worked around as described above, I got the application working.

It turned out to be a simple URL format issue.

The format that worked : http://SPserver/_layouts/MyApp/TableName/AspxName.aspx

(note : _layouts starts with an underscrore)

Thank you so much! The IronSpeed instructions are wrong on how to run the program once you get it deployed to Sharepoint.  I followed your path and it is working.

IronSpeed - fix your documentation!

Guys,
Our article gives correct URL with underscore, but you might not see it because of hyperlink underscore. We will add comment there to clarify.
Regarding addSolution.bat file it works perfectly fine as it is in our environment and for all other customers. I know about at least couple of hundreds of customer successfully using it. So I believe there is something really specific to your case which neither we or other customers have seen before.

Error in SharePoint database is very common for its user because this database gets easily damaged and start displaying error message. Restore SharePoint by the help of updated backup file if you don't have backup file then use third party tool to make SharePoint Error free.
