Krill, at one time there was a download version of on-line Help. I haven't seen that for some time. Will the on-line Help be converted into a downloadable form? Thanks.

Has anyone used a RAD tool that would provide a similar tool-set as ISD?
It seems were all in the same boat.

I am looking at ASPRunner.NET. I used it before I found Iron Speed.

This is a sad time. What a waste of such a superior product.

I read (parts of) the patent.  Looks like it could apply to pretty much any code generator that looks at a database schema and generates input forms.

Probably no one is safe from these people if they wanted to go after them.

Forum will continue working. Subscriptions will not work any more. You need to get perpetual license, contact Robb, he might help. Help and site will be live for some time, maybe 2-3 years.
Yes, Bryan, you are right about the patent. And we have started earlier, but litigation proved to be too costly, can't afford it.

If Iron Speed was developed before they filed the patent you should be able to declare yourself as "prior art".    So are you saying that even though legally you probably weren't infringing on the patent it's too expensive to fight?

I totally believe that.

Friggin' patent trolls.

Although Iron Speed is closing its door is there any issue from a legal aspect in continuing to develop and deploy applications using our current Iron Speed licenses etc

We just purchased 2 licenses for over $5,000 last week. This condition must have been know at that time. Needless to say it is the dishonesty that I'm having a problem with. I've requested a refund but the letter says that there will be none. Please reconsider.

With that said, then why not release the product as open source?

ISD (and perhaps some users too) should write to Obama, sinse he has declared war on those patent trolls a while ago: https://www.newscientist.com/article/mg21829215-700-obama-declares-war-on-the-patent-trolls/

I rely heavily on ISD and despite the issues raised over time mainly with nerfed/grinched functionality its still the best thing out there. I want to keep using it and I guess that means finding a way to transfer it across machines when Iron Speed is not there any more. I guess grab all install resources and your dev machine is gonna have the same name forever?

Also can I apply my free seats to earlier versions since those are the ones that I can actually use (9.0.1 and 12.0.2)?
