Hello Jerry,

How strong is their reporting engine.
Does it mine data well?  Drill down and through?
Does it accommodate scheduling?

I am carious to know what the learning curve is like.

The reporting is very good. Much better than ISD.
Learning curve is small. You will need to be comfortable with JavaScript and C#.
Can't comment of scheduling. I would need more detail.

We have been using Xomega.Net for Visual Studio with a great success. It can generate different presentation layers from your Service Model rather than from the DB schema directly, which is much more aligned with the structure of the UI, and does not infringe on the troll's patent.

It is extensible too, so we can easily customize existing generators, or build our own.

In light of Iron Speed's dissolution, our customers asked us for a solution that would allow them to convert their Iron Speed Designer application to a supported platform.  It took a lot of resources but we have been able to develop an Iron Speed Designer to ASP.NET MVC application converter.  If you would like to see a demonstration of it in action, you can see it here:

http://www.ironspeedtomvc.com

I think it will be the best way to move ISD apps into the ASP.NET MVC world.  We are dedicated to continuing the innovation of this code generator.

Paul.

yeah, a great start, need batch project, not only one entity (we have a lot of entities), maybe some basic style, header and footer at least, bootstrap,... I like the idea.

Bryan, Miles, Thank you.  It has been in the works for a while now.

Javier, it can create multiple entities.  We have the ability to add entities to an existing MVC project after the initial project has been created.  Separate models views and controllers are created for each entity.  At the moment, it is geared towards migrating Iron Speed projects but we intend adapt it into a general purpose MVC code generator for in-house use.

Are you going to sell it commercially?

Miles, we may decide to sell it commercially in the future, but for now we will be using it in-house to provide migration services for our Iron Speed clients.

I had a demo this week of a product called M-Power.  You can find out more here - http://www.mrc-productivity.com

The product looks very intuitive and the pricing can be setup by developer to avoid royalty charges for ISV's.  I'm doing some further evaluation of this platform to make sure I don't miss anything but currently it looks very good.

Anyone on the forums have any experience with the M-Power platform?  I've been working with Sal Stangarone and he has been very helpful in providing information and responding to my questions.

mPower is Java, I'd take a look at http://www.openxava.org/ if your are interested in a java generator code

I believe M-Power has many more features than OpenXava as I've looked at that product in the past and for some reason it quickly fell off my radar.

M-Power has a scheduling system built into its platform, very enhanced reports, and mobile support.  I don't have experience with OpenXava so it's hard to fully compare with M-Power.  The reviews seem pretty decent but I'm looking for a Platform as much as I am a development tool.

Thanks for your reply.
