Guys, I'm afraid I can't complete v13 by myself, it will need an effort of 3-4 other engineers for another 9 months Besides, I personally do not have any rights on Iron Speed Designer code anyway. But you can contact me directly with any questions at kdmitriev@ironspeed.com or kiradmi@comcast.net

After a few weeks of looking seems like we are going to concentrate on XAF (DevExpress). Best news is that we were already paying for it.

"After a few weeks of looking seems like we are going to concentrate on XAF (DevExpress). Best news is that we were already paying for it." I'm just curious, if you were paying for the product what held you back from using it? Just a familiarity and comfort with Iron Speed or was the product not able to do what you needed? Thanks, Jeremy

We only upgraded our subscription(s) to Enterprise this past spring. XAF is part of Enterprise. Now, XAF is kind of a different beast but seems to be doing the job well. You can watch several youtube videos about it. I'm still looking for nirvana ... just seems to be a pipe-dream

It's funny and frustrating, I'm finding it impossible to get a system that works to the same level as Ironspeed. I've tested out pretty much every software that people have listed above, and either I don't like how it looks, how it functions or their business model (The software in a cloud in particular, after this experience, I want to have the software on my computer just in case, you know?) The one I'm probably going to go with at this point is awareIM. It's a bit different as it's driven by business rules as opposed to a database structure. I absolutely love the look and feel of the application and think it could be great, but I am finding it a touch buggy and restrictive in that I can't just go in and code a fix to a problem or work around. It's java based, so I'll have probably have to learn Java, but hopefully that's further down the road. But I'm writing this more to say that I'm really sad that Ironspeed has shut down. I feel like they were sooooo close to the perfect application. If they got it to look as nice as awareIM, it would have been perfect to me. And their roadmap said to me that they were headed that way. And the way it functioned just made perfect sense to me. A quick story. I had proposal to do and part of the proposal was to mockup a mobile prototype to give the client an idea of how it would look. I fiddled with awareIM for about a week, partly trying to learn the system (I know a bit crazy) and partly trying to build the prototype, but I couldn't figure it out. After sticking with it too long, I had about 30 minutes before the proposal and no prototype. I looked at Ironspeed and said, why not. Long story short, I built a quick database, synced it, modified the mobile form and had the mockup I laboured over all week in just a half hour. I'm holding out hope that they'll be back. I really want to see them back up and running, and soon. My clients love the clean interfaces I give them, and I love that I'm not spending weeks on the plumbing of a system, but can turnover applications and modifications rapidly.

I still think it is too soon to make the jump to something else. I am still busy consulting with other Iron Speed customers, and a number of my customers are investing in new Iron Speed applications. So this product is far from dead yet. #keepthefaith Miles

AspxFormsGen MVC 5 Professional looks interesting! Unless there's an option to try, we can't say anything...

Based on how they say this works (https://www.junnark.com/Products/AspxFormsGenMVC5/HowItWorks), it would appear to be subject to the same patent troll as ISD. Starts with the database, generates the app. But maybe it wasn't just the patent troll, but this competition as well that caused ISD to bail??? It looks like they have already have developed what Kiril implied ISD was trying to develop. And it's cheap: $270. (Note the Limitations, Recommendations, and Notes in the left menu of the linked page. Not quite as complete as ISD.)

It looks interesting, but only supports SQL Server. And I see no mention of mobile pages, does it generate a complete responsive design layout?

Just including that I am so sad to see this happening. This product has been a part of my everyday work life for almost 7 years now. I was just looking at rewriting our main application next year and now... uhg... I am just gutted about this and so sad for everyone at ISD.

I'll give a try to AspxFormsGen MVC 5 Express (Professional isn't for download), just downloading, not in deep.
