Hello.  Hopefully someone can help me.

On my forms, the file upload fields clear each time an autopostback field is used.  Other filled text fields do not clear, just the file uploads.  Can this be prevented?

Thanks

Hi:

This is the default behavior in web 2.0.  The file URL's cannot be preserved after a postback as it will allow folks out there to have the hidden upload fields on a page which will then upload the files without your knowledge.

HTH,

Yes, I see that from some research I was doing.

My problem is I have a child table on the add page which allows multiple uploads if necessary.  Each time a user clicks the add icon, the previous upload field empties.

Do you have any suggestions?  I think this will confuse many end users.

Thanks

There is a Code Customization to create x number of child rows.  I usually start with 5 rows and if the rows are empty, ignore then via code so that empty rows are not processed.

The other option is to have five rows and store the record without the files if you don't want to clear them via code.

Yes, I was actually looking at that.  I stumbled when attempting to ignore empty rows.  Where exactly would I implement that code to ignore?

Thanks.

As you are creating the rows in the beginning, you need to override the save to loop thru the table control rows and delete the rows which are blank.

The other option is to let Iron Speed save everything and have the trigger at the DB side delete all where there is no filename.
