I'm having a problem deploying an application I converted up from 10.2 to 12.2.  It uses AD authentication with roles in a database table.  During development, authentication and the roles work fine.  One deployed to our testing environment, a log in to the application from a browser on the web server works just fine, but with remote computer login attempts, the user is returned on the Sign in page to a situation where the user name is populated, but the password is not.  No error is presented to the user.

The web servers show pretty drastic differences for these two situations, but I'm not sure where to take this.

Is your remote computer a part of your domain?
