I've read the article"Capturing the Enter Key in Application Pages" but I admit that I don't quite get where to look for this.

I have a page that has several search fields on it and I would like to just have one Go button that can be clicked on... this works fine for clicking, the more data put into the search boxes the more granular the search like expected... however when the enter key is pressed it hits the "Sign in" unless I leave all the buttons next to the search fields like the article states.

this looks ugly and is dumb... is there away that I can extend this capture range to include the whole filter area and therefor only need one button to activate the search not just when clicked (which works) but also when enter is pressed? and where would I go to do this.... the article states that ironspeed generates the code but doesn't really tell you where... and I've searched many pages for the "GenerateEnterKeyCaptureBeginTag" and "GenerateEnterKeyCaptureEndTag" and haven't found it.

this was helpful at least now hitting the enter key does nothing so that is a positive however in that thread Tim Titchmarsh had a post

I also had this for a while, turned out that the search filter had a non existent control assigned to the enter key ( I must have deleted it in the past). When I fixed this it worked fine!

Not sure to put this on this thread or that one but if having a non existent control assigned to the enter key is an issue that leads me to believe that you can assign a control to the enter key... how and where would I do that?.. I only have one button so that sounds ideal... I see no property to assign the enter key.

This might be what you're looking for.
Each SEARCH FILTER that you populate automatically adds its own SearchButton.
If you only want one GO button, then delete all but the first go button.
Then find the "Enter key button ID" of the first search filter,
and then point all the other search filters to the same "Enter key button ID".

See the picture below for details.
